There are so many evangelical churches around already, so why put up The Master’s Community Fellowship, what makes The Master’s Community Fellowship different from other evangelical churches? If there we were the same with other Bible believing, evangelical churches we might as well join with them rather than putting up another church. We are not saying that we are the best church in town or that we are better than others. We just wanted to point out what distinguishes us from other churches in order that you might see the uniqueness of our ministry as having a special place in God’s special plan for all churches.
Our unique distinctive can be summarized as the following, our recognition of the authority and sufficiency of Scripture, the importance of expository preaching, and the centrality of a biblical philosophy of ministry.
Just as the New Testament church concerned themselves primarily on “prayer and the Ministry of the Word” (Acts 6:4), it is our desire to make this our priority as well.
Our commitment to prayer
We believe in the importance of prayer and that each and every believer must have a strong commitment to prayer. We believe that prayer not only changes things but changes the believer most of all. We believe that prayer is more than talking and communicating with God, we believe that prayer is living life day to day moment by moment in the presence of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
Our commitment to expository preaching (The Ministry of the Word)
We believe in the authority and sufficiency of Scripture and that the only way to preach and teach God’s Words is to do it in an expository manner. We will be God’s grace study through ever book of the Bible book by book, chapter by chapter and verse by verse. We believe this is what God had in mind when he instructs believers to “Study to show themselves approve unto God” (2 Timothy 2:15)
We believe that just as the noble Bereans “. . . searched the Scriptures daily if these things were so . . . ” (Acts 17:11) we believe that there can be no spiritual growth apart from a serious study of the Word of God. We believe that the most important mandate of pastors is to Feed God’s sheep (John 21:15 to 17) by preaching the Word (2 Timothy 4:1 – 5) A faithful exposition of God’s Word will enable believers live purified lives making him become a “a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work.” (2 Timothy 2:21)
Our commitment to Biblical discipleship (The Ministry of the Word)
The great commission of our Lord Jesus Christ is for believers is found in Matthew 28:19-20:
“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”
What Jesus is really instructing us here is to “Make Disciples of all nations.” In order to be effective in making disciples we must be able to understand the the meaning of true discipleship and be able to impart its meaning to people who want to be real disciples of our Lord Jesus Christ. This can be achieved by a serious study and commitment to the God’s Word that is why we are so committed about expository preaching as this is the basis for effectively making disciples for Christ.
We will fulfill the great commission of Christ, by the faithful preaching, teaching, evangelizing through exposition of God’s most Holy Words.
